Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a wonderfully therapeutic practice, using many different props to support the body and allow for let go and fully relax. It is in this relaxed state where your nervous system can switch from the busy fight-or-flight mode (parasympathetic nervous system) to the rest & digest mode (sympathetic nervous system). It is in this second mode when the body is able to heal.

Even when we sleep, our bodies are still active and engaged, muscles tighten as we dream, we move to get into comfortable positions, etc. With restorative yoga, the props allow our muscles to take a break, and we can focus our attention more on our body and our breath.

Join me on the mat by candlelight, where I will guide you through several restorative poses. You will hold each pose (about 3-5 per class) for about 10-20 minutes, allowing your body and mind to truly rest. You should leave the class feeling a shift in both your body and mid, ready for a good nights sleep.

My offerings:

  • Larger group classes (usually within a studio setting)
  • Small group classes (in a studio, or in your home)
  • Private one-on-one classes (in your home)
